Habitat : Pseudobagrus brevicorpus is usually found in creeks and rivers, ranging from 3 to 50 m wide amongst gravel to coarse sand and runs less than 1 m deep, with moderate to low current and richly vegetated shore.  Feeds mainly on benthic invertebrates.

Range:  Endemic to the Nakdong River drainage.

Threats : Dredging and revetment constructions appear to be main threats.

Conservation action : Pseudobagrus brevicorpus is designated as the Natural Monument No. 455 of South Korea. The National Fisheries Research and Development Institute succeeded in breeding and raising this species under the laboratory conditions.
