Habitat : Kichulchoia brevifasciata lives in cool and clear creeks with bottoms of gravel and larger sand, ranging from 1 to 5 m wide and less than 60cm deep, with low to moderate current. Diet unknown.

Range:  Endemic to South Korea(Yulchi, Shinpyeong and Dumo Creek).

Threats : Revetment construction and dredging are main threats. Some reports stated populations are nearly extirpated from two out of three habitats, Yulchi Creek(Goheung County) and Dumo Creek(Yeosu County), after massive revetment constructions and dredging in 2004.
Because the limited habitats, three small creeks, are very vulnerable to various alteration, the populations are in great need of protection.

Conservation action : No report on conservation management plan. No protection by Jeollanam-do province as well.
