 Habitat: Estuary of large rivers or lakes. Occasionally swims up to mid-lower reaches of streams except creeks with fast current. Feeds on plankton.

 Range: Yellow Sea coast(China, North Korea, South Korea), East Sea coast(Far East of Russia, eastern North Korea, eastern South Korea), Sea of Japan coast(northern Japan), southern China, Taiwan.

 Remarks: K. punctatus is one of the most popular seasonal food fishes in the autumn.
