Habitat: Estuary of large rives or lakes with sandy or silty substrate. In late spring to mid summer, adult fish swims up to mid-lower reaches of rivers with richly vegetated shores to spawn. Dies after spawning. Feeds on invertebrates and fish.
Range: The Yellow Sea Region (China, North Korea, South Korea), southern China, western Japan.
Remarks: C.nasus has been well known for its great taste. Historically, people in Korean Peninsula have enjoyed tasting this fish by raw, seasoned raw, frying, roasting, and broth. Also, this fish was rendered as a tribute to kings of Joseon Dynasty(A.D. 1392~1910 in Korean Peninsula).
