Habitat: Coarse sand and gravel bottomed and richly vegetated riffles, large rivers, lakes, or often small creeks directly connected to large lakes with low to moderate current. Seems to prefer large dam lakes. Feeds on invertebrates, frogs, and fish.
Range: Native to Northeast Asia: Russian Far East, western North Korea, western South Korea, northeastern China. Introduced to the Nakdong River in South Korea.
Remarks: A popular food and game fish around large dam lakes.
