Habitat: Gravel riffle of large rivers with moderate to torrential current. Some populations occurred in islands or small creeks near coast tend to inhabit in richly vegetated stream with silt, sand bottom. Feeds mainly on benthic invertebrates.
Range: Endemic to South Korea (west to the Suo River and east to Taehwa River).
Remarks: This species contains several morphological variations across its range. In the Nakdong River drainage, a large number of Iksookimia longicorpa X Cobitis hangukensis hybrid populations have been reported. According to Dr. Iksoo Kim, most of the hybrids are female with functional oogenesis so it seems to imply the hybrid population is based on a unisexual lineage.
