Habitat: Coarse sand, gravel, rocky bottomed riffles with moderate to torrential current. Feeds mainly on benthic invertebrates.

Range: Native to Northeast Asia:  Siberia, Mongolia, Russian Far East, eastern North Korea, eastern South Korea, Japan (restricted to Hokkaido).
