Habitat: Coarse sand and gravel bottomed river with moderate to fast current. Feeds mainly on invertebrates.

Range: Native to South Korea (limited to the southern half) and western Japan.

Remarks: Locally a popular food fish. Also, a popular aquarium fish in South Korea and Japan.
