  Habitat:  Estuary of large rivers with sandy or silty substrate. In late spring to mid summer, adult fish swims up to mid-lower reaches of river to spawn. Dies after spawning. Feeds mainly on zooplanktons.

  Range:  The Yellow Sea Region(China, North Korea, South Korea), western Japan, southern China, Vietnam. 

  Remarks:  A well known food fish along the Yellow Sea Coast in Gyeonggi and Chungcheongnam Provinces. Served as fried or fermentated.
