Habitat: Mud and sand bottomed and richly vegetated rivers, lakes, and drains with low to moderate current. Seems to prefer shallow, quiet, and turbid water. Feeds mainly on invertebrates.

Range: Native to northeast Asia: North Korea, South Korea, western Japan, northeastern China
