Habitat: Coarse sand and mud bottomed and richly vegetated rivers, lakes, and ponds with low to moderate current. Seemingly prefers warm, shallow, and quiet water. Feeds mainly on invertebrates.
Range: Endemic to the Yangsan Faults Zone in South Korea : north to Gagok River(Samcheok County) and south to Jangan River(Busan). Recently, a great number of individual is found in Samcheokoship River in Samcheok county. This is likely to be a result of an introduction from nearby rivers such as Gagok River and Wangpi River.
