Habitat: Sand and gravel bottomed and richly vegetated rivers, lakes, and drains with low to moderate current. Feeds on planktons and invertebrates.

Range: Endemic to the Korean Peninsula(Yellow Sea slope and South Sea slope)

Remarks: As well as the other bitterlings, A.yamatsutae spawns in freshwater mussel. A popular aquarium fish in South Korea.
