Habitat: Richly vegetated rivers, lakes, and drains with low to moderate current. Sometimes found over gravel bottomed riffle with moderate current. Feeds on planktons and invertebrates.

Range: Endemic to South Korea.

Remarks: As well as the other bitterlings, A. koreensis spawns in freshwater mussel.  A popular aquarium fish in South Korea.
