Habitat: Marsh, drain, reservoir, and natural pond with low current to still water and rich vegetation. Also inhabits in backwaters of large rivers. Seemingly prefers shallow, warm, and quiet water. Feeds mainly on invertebrates and aquatic insects.
Range: Native to the Korean Peninsula and eastern China.
Remarks: A popular aquarium fish in South Korea.
