Habitat: Mud and sand bottomed and richly vegetated rivers, lakes, and drains with low to moderate current. Feeds on planktons and invertebrates.

Range: Korean Peninsula(Yellow Sea slope and South Sea slope) and western Japan.

Remarks: As well as the other bitterlings, A.rhombeus spawns in freshwater mussel. A popular aquarium fish in South Korea.
