 Habitat:  Estuary with rich seaweed vegetation. Seemingly prefers warm, shallow bay with pebble and sand bottom. Feeds mainly on small crustaceans.

  Range: Native to northeast Asia:  Russian Far East (Primorsky Krai), North Korea, South Korea, Japan, southeastern China, and Taiwan.

  Remarks: Male fish carries the eggs in his brood pouch.
